The book carries voices besides Jodi’s. They belong to leaders and friends she serves alongside in South Sudan, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, communities shaped by war, displacement, loss, courage, joy, and extraordinary faithfulness. Their circumstances are profoundly different from her own. And yet the threads are recognizable: fear is still fear, shame still hides, hope still holds, and God is still faithful.
Their witness has formed Jodi as much as anything she has gone there to give. That is why their stories belong in these pages. This is a work of spiritual formation, an invitation into a gentler, truer way of living with God. And the unraveling was never the point. Jesus was.
